Did you know that skipping breakfast can significantly increase your risk of having a heart attack?
I came across an interesting article written by Clarissa Bye from Australia’s News Corp this morning. She wrote about a study just recently published in the Journal of the American College of cardiology suggesting skipping breakfast increases the likelihood of atherosclerosis (stiff and narrow arteries).
According to the co-author of the publication, Valentin Fuster, the director of Mount Sinai Heart in New York, it’s not skipping breakfast in itself it is the main issue. It’s what you tend to eat later on in the morning that replaces breakfast.
So, if you’re reading this article, did you eat a healthy breakfast this morning?
